Below are the most common Boro Ordinances frequently asked about:

 

BO 5-3 Noise

No person shall make, aid, countenance or assist in making any improper noise, riot, disturbance or breach of the peace in or upon any street, highway, thoroughfare, sidewalk, building or other public or quasi-public place, or upon private property which is not his own, or disquiet or disturb any congregationor assembly of any kind whatsoever in any church or other building by any rude, disorderly or indecent behavoir of any kind.

No person shall make or permit the making of any disturbing noise by the use of a phonograph, radio, television, musical instrument, lawn mower of any type, either power or manual, or other machines or devices, producing or reproducing of sound in such manner as to disturb the peace, quiet and discomfort of their neighbors. The operation of any such sets, instruments, machines or devices between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday and 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., Sunday, in such a manner as to be plainly audible at a distance of fifty (50) feet from the building or vehicle in which it is located, shall be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section.  

BO 5-17 Regulating Conduct During Halloween

5-17.1 Prohibition

a. Mischief Night- On October 30th, it shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen (18) years to appear or be upon any public street, park or other publicly-owned property not their own or not the property of their parent or guardian after 7:00 p.m. in the borough unless accompanied by their parent or guardian.

c. Halloween Night- On October 31st, it shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen (18) years to appear or be upon any public street. park or other publicly-owned property not their own or not the property of their parent or guardian after 8:30 p.m. in the borough unless accompanied by their parent or guardian.

 BO 8-4 Safe Control of Dog

No dog, either licensed or unlicensed, shall be permitted to run at large or to trespass on any property, and no such dog shall be permitted off any premises except on a stout leash or in a crate and under safe control. For the purpose of this section, premises shall include kennel, pet shop, shelter, pound, residence, or any other place where dogs are or shall be kept.

 BO 8-6.1 Barking Dogs

No person shall keep, harbor or maintain any dog which barks, howls or cries continuosly for ten (10) minutes or intermittently for thirty (30) minutes so that same unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of life or property of persons residing in the vicinity. The provisions of this section shall apply to all private or public facilities, including any animal pounds, kennels, and pet shops, where a dog is held for any reason.  

BO 10-3.4 Overnight Parking

Parking Prohibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets. No person shall park a vehicle between the hours 3:00 a.m. through 5:00 a.m. on any day, except Sundays and public holidays upon any of the streets or parts of streets within the borough.
